A RECORD, NOT A VERDICT
Dog Weight Calculator
Log your dog’s weight by date, build a history, and see the changes on a chart. Keep actual measurements together without turning a number into a health diagnosis.
Free to use. No account. Weight records stay in your browser.
A RECORD OF THEIR OWN
Weight records
Keep measurements together over time. Each entry needs only a date, a weight, and its unit. A number on its own cannot tell you whether your dog is underweight or overweight.
Loading dog profiles saved in this browser…
Add or select a local dog profile to save measurements. Your dog’s name keeps their records separate; other profile details are optional.
YOUR DATED HISTORY
No measurements yet
One number is a point, not a trend. Add measurements on different dates to build a history.
Every record needs a date
Use the day you weighed your dog, including for an older entry. Dates sort the history; the day you type it in does not determine the latest measurement.
One number is a point, not a trend
Compare several dated observations under similar measuring conditions. Adult size is optional profile context and does not score these measurements against a reference band.
Add a measurement to start your dog’s weight chart.
Recorded dates and weights will appear here. No sample or predicted values are shown.
Measurements (0)
Newest first. For the same date, the most recently added measurement comes first.

Reading the trend
A single weight is a starting point. Several dated measurements let you look back at what was recorded, instead of relying on a remembered number. Use the same scale and similar measuring conditions when possible, and check that each entry uses the intended unit. A change of scale or a mistyped unit can create an apparent jump that does not describe a real change in your dog.
Direction matters more than speed
Look across the history rather than treating the difference between two entries as a verdict. The summary compares the earliest measurement with the latest and states the dates and number of observations. It describes an increase, decrease, or no net change; it does not grade the direction as good or bad. Measurements on only one date do not establish a change over time.
When a change is worth a vet visit
If a change is unexpected or unexplained, contact your veterinarian rather than using this line to decide whether it is safe. AAHA includes unexplained weight loss or gain among signs that need veterinary attention. Bring the dated entries and any observations about appetite, activity, or measuring conditions. This page cannot determine the cause or urgency of a change.
What this page will not tell you
The tracker does not calculate an ideal weight, diagnose body condition, or recommend a food change. Adult size, if saved in a profile, is background information and does not place a point in a healthy-weight band. This chart draws actual observations without a growth forecast. Adult-weight estimation now lives only on the puppy growth calculator; the two tools share local dog profiles and unit conversions, not a prediction line.
Your weight chart
The horizontal axis represents measurement dates, spaced by elapsed calendar time. Two dates a month apart occupy more space than dates one day apart. The vertical axis shows weight in the selected chart unit and starts at zero, so a small recorded difference is not magnified by a cropped baseline. The line simply joins your entries; it does not fill in measurements for the days between them.
Use “Chart and list unit” to switch the display between kilograms and pounds. This converts the view without rewriting saved values. Internally, each measurement keeps a kilogram value plus the unit used when it was entered. The conversion uses the exact definition of one pound as 0.45359237 kilograms; displayed values are rounded for readability.
With no records, you see an empty chart and an empty measurement list. One record produces a single point. Entries on the same date can overlap on the chart, but each remains a separate row with its own delete action. The newest entry on the latest measurement date determines the latest-weight display. Deleting it reveals the next applicable observation.
Export and share
Weight records are saved in this browser on this device. They are not sent to a server or synchronised to an account. Export a copy if you want to open the history elsewhere, send it to your veterinarian, or keep it outside the browser. Choose the intended dog profile before downloading; a CSV contains that dog’s records only.
CSV gives you one row per saved measurement with its date, weight, and original entry unit. It includes the complete history, even when the on-screen list is showing only its first rows. You can open the file in a spreadsheet or attach it to a message yourself. Exporting does not send a message or create a public sharing link.
Print records opens the browser’s print dialog with the recorded chart and the full measurement list. You can print or save a PDF using the browser’s options. Long histories may span several pages; rows beyond the on-screen “Show more” limit are still included. The chart is a visual overview, while the list supplies exact dates and displayed weights.
Keep a restorable backup as well. CSV is for reading and sharing, not importing back into PupSaga. Use the JSON backup controls in My Dog to preserve profiles, saved calculations, and measurements in the format this site can restore. Clearing site data, changing devices, or losing browser storage can remove local records. There is no cloud copy to recover, so export before making those changes.

Frequently asked questions
Does the dog weight calculator predict adult weight?
This page tracks dated measurements and their changes. Use the puppy growth calculator for an adult-weight estimate and a possible future growth curve.
Can I record a dog of any age?
Yes. A measurement needs a date, weight, and unit. You do not need an age or adult-size estimate. If a birthday is saved, measurements cannot predate it.
Can this tell me my dog’s ideal weight?
No. Weight alone cannot establish an ideal weight or body condition. Ask your veterinarian to interpret the record for your individual dog.
Can I add several measurements on one day?
Yes. Every measurement has its own entry. Same-day points can overlap on the chart; the full list keeps them separate. The newest entry on the latest date supplies the latest weight.
Will switching kg and lb change my records?
Switching the chart unit changes only the display. Saved kilogram values and original entry units remain intact. A CSV uses each measurement’s original unit.
How do I keep a copy before changing devices?
Export a CSV for a readable weight history and a JSON backup from My Dog to restore your data in another browser. Records do not synchronise automatically and cannot be recovered from a cloud account.
